Community gardens can increase communication, cooperation and a sense of unity among participants.
Utilizing the calming effect of nature, Common Grounds, a new community garden serving Ocean County will serve to cultivate a sense of belonging and togetherness in a culturally diverse region.
Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join us as we develop the land so graciously donated by Lakewood Township into a place of beauty and belonging. To encourage community building, there are no private plots in the garden; all of the produce belongs to the community as a whole and will be grown collectively.
Visitors are welcome to visit the garden during the hours that the John Patrick Sports Complex is open while respecting whatever rules are posted about picking.
Common Grounds was built through the generous donations of local businesses and individuals. We are especially grateful to Brookstone Management for their sponsorship.
